Terms and Conditions

Swim4 general lessons run term-time only in line with local school holidays. Dates are published on our website and in our e-newsletter. Please make sure you have signed up to receive the e-newsletter.

We will agree a suitable lesson start date with you and if this is mid-way through a term, the pro-rata’d amount will be due for payment.

We reserve the right to cancel your place if payment is not received prior to the first lessons date, or if renewing, before the first lesson of the new term.

Towards the end of each term we will confirm the details of the relevant class for your child for the following term. Due to progression of pupils, the days and times of classes may change, and we cannot guarantee to meet your preferences. If you wish to re-book, an ‘invoice’ will be issued for payment before a given deadline to secure your place.

Payment for all lessons is due termly in advance.

Currently cash, cheque and BACS payments are accepted. From September 2018, all payments will be due by Direct Debit.

Refunds and Cancellations

If we have to cancel a lesson due to pool malfunction or teacher absence/illness, then we will offer a credit for the following term’s lessons if we are unable to re-schedule the class during the existing term.

We do not offer refunds for lessons customers miss when the lessons are still running, for instance due to family holiday, or short term illness.

We may issue a refund in exceptional circumstances, and this will be subject to a £10 administration fee.

Teacher Qualifications

All Swim4 swimming teachers hold the necessary qualifications from either the Swimming Teacher’s Association (STA) or Amateur Swimming Association (ASA). Those teaching Parent & Child classes also hold the STA Baby and Pre-School qualification and STA Safety Award for Teachers. Most teachers also hold additional first aid/rescue qualifications which such as the RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (NRASTC).

All teachers hold their own public liability insurance through either the STA or ASA. Swim4 also holds comprehensive swim school insurance.

All property left unattended (at any Swim4 facility) is let at your own risk. Swim4 cannot accept any responsibility for the loss of or damage to any personal items.

Medical conditions

Please ensure you advise us of any medical conditions for yourself and your child on the booking form, and at every lesson if there is any change to your medical history. All information will be kept confidentially.

Please do not bring your child swimming if you or your child have had vomiting or diarrhoea in the last 48 hours, have an ear infection, chest infection, bad cold, chicken pox, conjunctivitis or any other contagious illness. Please seek advice from your Doctor before returning to lessons.

All children who are not yet potty trained are required to wear a ‘double nappy’ system. This is typically a disposable swimming nappy (not normal nappy) with a neoprene ‘over nappy’ on top.

We reserve the right to refuse entry to any child without the correct swim nappy. Please ensure you dispose of your nappies in the nappy bins provided, or take them home with you.

All swimmers must be in suitable swimwear for lessons. For females, this should be a one-piece swimming costume, not a bikini. For males, this should be trunks, or fitted shorts, falling above the knee, not board shorts.

Parents attending parent and child lessons may wear a t-shirt over their suit, if they wish to. Babies attending these lessons may wear a body wetsuit which leave arms and legs free for movement if required for warmth.

No loose or sharp jewellery is permitted in any lessons.

Pool Rules

Customers are responsible for their children at all times.

Customers must not run on poolside, or enter the pool without a Swim4 instructor’s permission.

Parents/carers/family members are welcome to view every lesson from spectator areas, which may be on poolside.

Our parent and child classes are only suitable for one parent per child.

If you alternate parent/carer per lesson, please advise the teacher if it is your first lesson, or if you have not attended for some time so they can ensure you are correctly briefed.

Car seats and pushchairs are not permitted on poolside.

Any child who is not taking part in a lesson must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times, who is not taking part in a lesson.

Please arrive no more than 15 minutes prior to the start of your lessons to ensure there is sufficient changing room for the group prior.

Whilst waiting for your class, please ensure you have complete control over your child and please keep noise to a minimum so not to distract other children in lessons.

Food is not permitted in the pool buildings.

Please adhere to the instructions given for each pool with regards to signing-in, car parking, entry and exit routes.

If you have any questions or complaints, please speak to your teacher in the first instance.

If the issue is not resolved to your satisfaction, please submit a written complaint to Swim4 head office via email: emma@swim4.co.uk or the postal addresses on our website.
